The Position
As a member of our team at HeinOnline you will support the Controller by managing accounts receivable/payable, sales tax fillings and assisting with month/year-end close.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Registering in new states for sales tax and processing sales tax payments. (25-25% of the time)
  • Completing all aspects of accounts receivable; including processing payments, completing the daily deposit, making collection emails/calls, and processing billing adjustments.
  • Reviewing and reconciling all purchase orders and verifying that POs have been completed accurately.
  • Completing the monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Processing journal entries.
  • Assisting with the preparation of various accounting reports.
  • Managing the ongoing application, collection, and processing of sales tax for each state.
  • Assisting with the preparation and mailing of all payments.
  • Handling Customer Service billing questions.
  • Serving as a backup for our Reception, as needed.
  • Any additional responsibilities as requested by Management.


Qualifications
Desired Skills, Abilities, & Interests:

  • Attention to detail and ensuring precise financial records.
  • Problem solving and analyzing financial data.
  • Communication with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience with Excel and an ability to quickly learn accounting software.
  • Data entry and routine accounting tasks

Education & Experience

  • Associates degree in accounting, plus 3+ years of working in accounting, OR
  • Bachelor's Degree, plus 6+ months of working in accounting


Other Position Information
Schedule
Monday – Friday; 8:30am to 5:00pm
Position can start part-time, should you be graduating in May 2024.

Salary
$50,000-$65,000
